Clearing a blocked drain filter or replacing a door lock, belt or inlet valve sits at the lower end, while a motor, control board or drum bearing job costs the most. The service call fee is waived when you go ahead with the repair.

A blockage is the most common reason: a sock, coin or lint caught in the drain pump filter or the drain hose. On most front-loaders the filter sits behind a small panel at the bottom front of the machine, so have towels and a shallow tray ready if you open it. If the filter and hose are clear and the washer still holds water, the drain pump has usually failed.
The rubber door boot is the most common source, because it can tear or hold a trapped object that stops the door from sealing. Loose or cracked fill hoses behind the machine, a leaking pump and using too much detergent, which pushes suds out of the door, are the next things we check.
Repair usually makes sense when the washer is under about 10 years old and the repair costs less than half the price of a comparable new machine. Pumps, belts, door locks, valves and suspension parts are almost always worth fixing. Worn drum bearings on an older front-loader are labour-heavy, and in that case we will tell you plainly if replacing the machine is the better choice.
Every washing machine repair is covered by a 90-day warranty on both parts and labour. If the same fault comes back within 90 days, we return and fix it at no charge.
